SMO'KER S ARTICLE Application filed February 5, 1930. Serial No. 425,983.
This invention is a smokers article and is directed more particularly to a tobacco pipe of novel and unique construction.
An important feature of the present invention resides in the particular stem associated with the pipe and in the preferred form of this invention, the stem is provided with a pair of conduits united at their opposite ends to form single conduits communicating, respectively, with the mouth piece and bowl of the pipe.
Features of the invention, other than those referred to, will be apparent from the hereinafter detailed description and claims, when read in conjunction with the accompanying drawing.
The accompanying drawing illustrates one practical embodiment of the invention, but the construction therein shown is to be understood as illustrative, only, and not as defining the limits of the invention.
Figure l is a side elevation of a pipe showing the stem in central section.
Figure 2 is a section on the line 2-2 of Figure 1. H
In the drawing, the pipe is shown as having a bowl 11 provided with a smoke passage 12. The stem 13 comprises a one-piece integral construction having intermediate its ends two separate conduits provided therein with smoke passages 16 and 17 and merging with sweeping curves at their opposite ends into two single conduits 14 and 15 leading to the opposite ends of the stem. The smoke passage 14 extends to the mouth piece, while the smoke passa e 15 connects with the smoke passage 12 of the bowl. This arran ement permits a pipe cleaner to'be passed tlrough the stem from one end to the other thereof through either of the intermediate separate conduits for the purpose of efliciently cleaning the same.
The conduits, as shown in F igurel, are separated and provide a convenient grip for the fingers whereby the holding of the stem by the smoker is facilitated.
What is claimed:
A pipe having a stem comprising a one piece integral construction having intermediate its ends two separate conduits merging with sweeping curves at theiropposite ends into two single conduits, leading respectively 7 to the opposite ends of the stem, whereby a pipe cleaner may be passed through the stem from one end thereof to the other through either of the intermediate separate conduits, and a bowl supported rigidly on one end of 7 the stem and provided with a tobacco cavity from the base of which a smoke passage leads to the single conduit in the adjacent end of the stem.
In testimony whereof I have signed the 3 foregoing specification.
' HARRY H. HONIGBAUM.
