Abstract

305,699. Templer, J. F. H. Nov. 9, 1927. Trawling-gear. - A trawl board is towed by a connection of the towing warp or a streamer to a leading angle. As shown in plan at Fig. 4 and elevation in Fig. 5, the board is composed of two triangular parts ABD, ACD, meeting at an angle on the line AD. The towing warp a and net rope b are attached at the forward angle B. When balanced as shown the board gives lifting as well as shearing force. If balanced so that point A is above point B, the board will dive. The two surfaces of the board may be merged into one another, thus producing a curved board.
