Abstract

305,268. Nixon, F. H. Nov. 4, 1927. Dog-racing apparatus comprises an endless flexible cable 3 passing round pulleys 3<a>, one or more of which is or are motor-driven, and a lure 1 connected to the cable by a flexible connection 2. The cable may pass through the groove of a pulley driven by the motor 6 or it may pass between the motor-driven pulley 4 and an idle pulley 5, Fig. 2. Jockey pulleys 7 are used to keep the cable taut. In a modification, Fig. 4, the lure 1 is at the end of an arm 11 rigid with the cable 3 and braced by connections 12, 13 either of which may include a spring 14. In a further modification the lure is connected to the end of the arm 11 by. a flexible connection. The cable may be an overhead one.
