Abstract

196,341. Park, J. Jan. 14, 1922. Massage.-A device for massaging inaccessible parts of the body consists of a casing 1, Fig. 1, adapted to be fixed to a wall, and having in front a slot 2 on each side of which are plates 3, 4, and behind which is a slotted tube 6, Fig. 3. Sliding within the slot is a carrier 5 with an extension within the tube 5 to which are attached cords 7, 8. The cord 7 passes down the tube 6 and out through an aperture in the casing 1, and the cord 8 passes up the tube, over pulleys 11, 12, and out through an aperture 13, Fig. 1. A handle is provided at the end of each cord, and by pulling alternately on each handle the brush or pad 15, which is attached by means of a split tube on the back thereof to a T-piece on the projecting part of the carrier 5, is caused to move up and down. The front part of the casing 1 is secured to a back 16 by hinges 17, 18 and nuts 19, 20. Alternatively, the brush may be connected to a band or chain passing over pulleys or sprockets and driven by a handle.
