Abstract
245,930. Thomas, P. C. Jan. 7, 1925. Tethering animals.-A device for tethering a dog or other animal, comprising a guide which is mounted between supports and along which can move a member to which the tethering chain or the like is attached, is characterized in that the guide consists of a wire, cable, or like flexible member that can be passed round a comer. The device shown comprises a cable 5, stretched between hooks 7 secured to the top of posts 3, which are held upright by anchoring-ropes 9. Adjustable stops 6 are fixed on the cable, and between these can move a pulley 4 to which is connected the tethering chain 1. The flexibility of the cable 5 allows it to be passed round a corner, such as the angle of a building. For this purpose, the cable may engage in a bracket 12 fixed to the corner, as shown in Fig. 4.
