Abstract

305,070. Wade, H., (Standard Compositor Akt.-Ges.). Oct. 29, 1927. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Assembling matrices.-Relates to means for preventing rebounding of the matrices as they enter the assembler. The matrices, passing from the assembler-belt 1 over a, slideway 4, are guided to the star-wheel 6 by a resilient guiding tongue 5, pivoted at its upper end on a pin 7, and pressed by a spring 8. The lower end of the tongue 5 has secured to it a forked and vertically adjustable spring 10, the limbs of which bear on the lateral ribs of the matrices, and exert a braking effect proportional to their thickness. The lower end of the tongue 5 has an extension 15, which engages the faces of the matrices between the ribs. The movement of the tongue 5 is limited by a pin 18 engaging in an aperture 16 in the plate 17.
