Abstract

Fittings, internal.-A travelling trunk or case 1 has a tray 5 hinged at one end! 10 to one end of the trunk body 1 and adapted to be moved into the vertical position, Fig. 1, in which it is secured by a pair of spring-controlled bolts 11, the outer end of which pass through the sides of the tray and engage the trunk body; the bolts slide in guides 14 and have radial handles 12 by which they can be retracted to allow the tray to be moved back into the body of the trunk. The tray is preferably provided with adjustable supports 19 for garment hangers 20 and with one or more transverse clothes-retaining bars 23 adapted detachably to engage holes in plates 26 on the sides of the tray. The bolts 11 may engage plates 17 on the sides of the trunk body and the tray may be supported in the body by corner abutments 9. A flexible cover 31 formed with detachable fasteners 32 may be provided for the tray; one or more straps 35 may be used to limit the movement of the tray; the hinges. of the tray may be arranged so that the latter can be removed from the trunk; the body of the trunk may be provided with transverse partitions. 7, some of which may be detachable; and a pair of trays may be provided, one hinged at each end of the trunk.
