Abstract

303,850. Stothert & Pitt, Ltd., and Bishop, J. B. Oct. 11, 1927. Flat endless-belt conveyers; auxiliary chains; driving-gear; casings; standards and feet; portable conveyers; guards and shields to prevent falling-off and spilling; conveying from working face in mines.-The conveyer belt 3, Fig. 4, is formed in sections and the adjacent ends of the sections are secured to cambered cross-bearers 4 having heads 5 which pass through and are positioned by slots 6 formed in the links of endless driving chains 1, 2. The upper run of the chains is supported by rollers 11 mounted on brackets 13 which are provided with feet 14 to support the lower run. Guard plates 17, 21 are attached to the brackets 13. The conveyer may deliver to a similarly constructed conveyer, Fig. 5, mounted on a wheeled carriage 24 movable on a track 26. The driving wheel is driven by an electric motor 29 through gears 30, chain and sprocket gearing 31, and bevel gears 27, 28.
