Abstract
1,039,010. Pedestrian transporting conveyers; C. F. BUTZ ENGINEERING. Dec. 23, 1964, No. 52372/64. Heading B8A. An endless chain of pedestrian supporting platforms 38 is driven by a pair of endless driving belts 90 which successively engage support wheels 68 of each platform. The driving means are spaced around the track in respective pits 77. Each platform comprises a major portion 38 hinged at 42 to a minor section 40 which carries the wheels 68. The latter are connected by a link 64 to a boss on the section 38 of the adjacent platform. This boss mounts a guide roller 60. A roller 74 (Fig. 6, not shown) mounted at the rear of each section 40 supports an overhanging flange of the adjacent platform. Each platform carries a support 106 which may carry a seat 108 (Fig. 10, not shown). Each driving belt 90 is supported by an endless tensioning belt 88 and a track of rollers 86. The arrangement permits the conveyer to be laid on undulating terrain (Fig. 2, not shown). A resiliently deflectable foot guard 98 (Fig. 13, not shown) has rollers 100 which engage the side edges of platforms 38.
