Abstract

Hinges.-Between the inner and outer members of a joint is a bush of rubber engaging by means of corrugations of rounded section with corresponding parts on either member. As shown in Fig. 1, a rubber bush 6, internally corrugated, is inserted between a corrugated pin 2 and a sleeve 5. The engagement between the members 5, 6 may be cylindrical or spherical, or of rectangular or other non-circular section. In a modification both faces of the bush 6 are corrugated, and the bush has end flanges. In another modification two rubber bushes 6, 16, Fig. 6, internally and externally corrugated respectively, are inserted between the parts 2, 5. A loose floating metal sleeve 17 may be inserted between the bushes 6, 16. In another modification, a pin of square section fits in a corresponding hole in a rubber bush 6, Fig. 5, having corrugated engagement with either the outer member of the joint or with another rubber bush 16 fitted non-rotatably in a metal sleeve 13.
