Abstract
303,394. Sturmey, J. J. H. Sept. 26, 1927. Flowers and plants, pots for growing.-Plant pots formed from pulp material which when put in the ground will decompose and act as a fertilizer are produced by deposition of the pulp material within foraminous moulds, as in the Drake process. The pulp material may contain in itself chemical constituents suitable for plant food or may have such constituents added to it. A pot may be formed by passing pulped peat into a foraminous mould, the residue left in the moulds after the escape of water being compressed and dried by means of compressed and heated air. Sulphate of soda may be added to wood pulp before use; or a pot made from wood pulp may be impregnated with a fertilizer by soaking it in a solution.
