Abstract

239,703. Cuylits, G. E. A. Sept. 15, 1924. Treating or mixing with special materials.- In processes for drying peat, lignite, coal-mud &c. in which bacteria or fungi are employed, waste water containing such bacteria &c. is added to the raw materials, and the mass is left for some time exposed to light and air, the water separated afterwards flowing away. Substances promoting the growth of bacteria, such as phosphates and magnesium compounds, may be added, and later the mass may be raised to a temperature of 95‹ C. to kill the bacteria in the finished product. The water may be removed by pressing &c. in addition to draining and evaporation.
