Abstract

302,514. Salter & Co., Ltd., G., and Bache, E. W. Jan. 24, 1928. Spring balances.-A. personal weighing-machine of the kind having a platform with a pair of depending legs entering a box like casing provided with an upwardly reflecting mirror, has each of the legs connected separately to the casing by parallel links. The platform has legs 6 connected to the side 2 of the casing by parallel links 8 and to the central support 14 by links 19. The support 14 carries a head 13 from which the balancing springs 12 are suspended, so allowing a thin sheet metal top 4 to be used. The sides and back 30, 31, may also be made of thin sheet metal. The legs carry a member 16 having a head 23 in a slot 22 in which a plate 21 is mounted to carry a rack 17 for operating the pointer 15 of the dial. The pointer may be adjusted to zero by moving the plate 21 and rack by the nut 26. A mirror 35 may be hinged to the base to reflect upwards the readings of the dial.
