Abstract
302,120. Pickwick, T. May 14, 1928. Kettles; lids.-A filling opening 4 normally closed by a spring-controlled valve but adapted to be opened, for example by the insertion of a tap, is provided in the lid or in the upper portion of a kettle, boiler, or like vessel. The invention is shown as applied to the lid of a kettle, and comprises a valve plate 3 hinged to the cover by means of a bolt 5 and maintained pressed upwardly by means of a spring 6 encircling a depending stem 7 which passes through a slot in the plate.
