Abstract

302,113. Altenbach, O. May 7, 1928. Pocket and like knives. - A knife blade has a substantially thickened portion 2 lying behind the edge 5 and extending completely around the blade point 3, the latter being formed as a screw-driver, priser. chisel, or other tool. As shown for a pocket knife, the thickened part 2 of the blade extends approximately halt-way across the blade and has notches 7 and holes 8 which serve for prising, breaking glass, or for turning small nuts. The handle 6 has a cut-away part 9 to expose the notches 7 when the blade is in the closed position. The blade may be rigidly secured to a handle to form a sheath knife.
