300,970. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. Nov. 21, 1927, [Convention date]. Addition to 280,873. Developing.-The active agent in the developing solution comprises an N-mono-oxyethyl derivative of a nucleal substitution product or a homologue of 4-amino-1-oxybenzene, excepting derivatives containing a nitro-group. Development proceeds without formation of fog, even in solutions not containing potassium bromide. Examples are described of developing solutions containing (1) the sulphate of 4-oxyethylamino-2- chloro-1-oxybenzene, (2) the oxalate of 4-oxyethylamino-3-methyl-1-oxybenzene, and (3) 4-oxyethylamino-1-oxybenzene-2-carboxylic acid.
