Abstract

292,140. I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.- Ges. June 15, 1927, [Convention date]. Desensitizing. - Plates or films coated with silver bromide emulsion are desensitized by treatment with an iso-phenosafranine, which does not stain the fingers or clothes of the operator. A 1/5000 strength aqueous solution of either 1: 3- iso-phenosafranine (1: 3-diamino-phenyl-phenazonium chloride) or 2: 3-iso-phenosafranine (2 : 3- diamino-phenyl-phenazonium nitrate) may be used before development or 5 cc. of either solution may be added to 100 cc. of the developer, desensitizing taking place in either case in one minute.
