Abstract

314,144. Imray, O. Y., (I. G. Farbenindustrie Akt.-Ges.). April 3, 1928. Desensitizing.-Light-sensitive materials are desensitized before or during development by treatment with an aqueous solution of a derivative of a polynuclear quinone such as anthraquinone or phenanthraquinone. Examples are described of baths, containing respectively sodium 1-nitroanthraquinone-2-carboxylate, alizarin direct blue B, anthraquinone violet, and sodium anthraquinone-2-sulphonate. The Specification refers also to the desensitizing action of the oxidation products of developers.
