Abstract

300,032. Hepworth, E. Dec. 9, 1927. Addition to 269,334. Removing wheels from shafts. - The wheel puller as described in the parent Specification is provided with dogs 6 which are screwed up on the spindles 7 and secured by lock nuts 8. Fig. 10 shows a modified dog secured on the spindle by upper and lower lock nuts 8, the recess 11 either engaging a security bolt on the wheel or engaging the head 12 of a segmental plate 13 passed behind the wheel, Fig. 8, or behind the security bolts. Another form of segmental plate 13, Fig. 9, has two slots 16 to fit under the nuts on two security bolts, the recess 10 then being engaged by a dog 6 as shown in Fig. 1.
