Abstract

270,131. Gordon, W. July 22, 1926. Nuts, screwing-up and unscrewing.-A series of nuts 9 co-operating with the bolts B of a detachable wheel fitment are operated simultaneously by a toothed ring 7 meshing with pinion teeth 8 formed on the nuts. One of the nuts, or a separ. ate pinion, is formed with a hexagonal head 14 or like means to receive a spanner. For positioning the detachable hub before engagement of the bolts and nuts, centring-studs D are provided on the fixed hub. The device may be used as a separate tool for operating an annular series of nuts, such as hub-bolt nuts, by forming the nuts 9 with hexagonal apertures to fit over the nuts to be operated.
