Abstract

299,963. Bathgate, J. Sept. 22, 1927. Pivoting adjustments. - A device for supporting automobile lamps in adjustable position comprises a split ring or band B having a shoulder rotatably mounted on a bracket A, the ring and shoulder being split by a a saw-cut D. The ring B receives a spigot member on the lamp, which is locked in adjusted position by compressing the saw-cut by means of a cap-nut 0, the tightening of which also locks the ring against a shoulder on the bracket A provided with a spring washer E. The nut C is locked by a spring-retracted dowel F which engages a notched shoulder on it. Additional means for locking the ring on the bracket A comprises a threaded spindle J having a portion of the thread cut away, and passing through the shoulder in such a position that on rotation part of the threaded portion binds against the bracket.
