Abstract

320,231. Neale, R. W. Oct. 11, 1928. Look-out reflectors.-A support for mounting the observation-mirror f of a motor &c. vehicle on a fixed stem a<2> so as to be capable of swivelling, sliding and angular adjustment relatively thereto comprises a sleeve c embracing the stem a<2> and provided with a projecting screw-threaded peg c<2> and with slots c<3> on each side of the peg, a clamping-piece d adapted to be passed over the peg c<2> and provided on its inner surface with projections d<3> to enter the slots c<3> and grip the stem a<2>, and a mirror carrier e having a lug e<2> adapted to be passed over the peg and to abut against the exterior of the clamping-piece d, the three parts being secured in position on the stem by tightening up a nut g screwing on to the peg c<2>. Preferably the clamping-piece d is formed with an exterior boss d<4> having a ring of teeth or serrations d<5> co-operating with corresponding teeth or serrations e<4> on the lug e<2> so that, when the nut g is slackened, the desired angular adjustment of the mirror may be effected. A spring may be located in recesses d', e<6> adjacent to the teeth d<5>, e<4>, tending to separate the parts d, e.
