Abstract

234,548. Harris & Sheldon, Ltd., and Nelson, A. D. Feb. 28, 1924. Look-out reflectors.-In supporting - means for mounting an observationmirror 1 upon a motor-car, motor-cycle, or other vehicle of the type comprising a ball-joint 8 and a clamping-member 3 embracing an arm or support 2, and wherein simultaneous adjustment is provided for the ball-joint and clamping- member, the ball-member 4 is operated by a screwed stem or bolt 5, which passes through the clamping-member 3 and is fitted with a nut 12 whereby the stem 5 is moved axially to draw the ball-member against its seating and simultaneously the arm 2 is gripped by the clamp 3. The clamping-member 3 is preferably of substantially #-s lape, the two limbs being provided with aligned openings, one of which is non- circular and co-operates with a corresponding non-circular portion 14 of the stem 5 to prevent rotation of the latter.
