Paper bags, making.-Paper or like bags are made on a rotary drum 13 arranged in immediate proximity to a filling drum 14 operated intermittently and synchronously therewith. The axes 9, 12 of the drums are arranged at right angles so that by displacing the completed bags 11 in a direction parallel with the axis 9 they may be made to enter the radially arranged pockets 15 of the drum 14. To make the bags, a sheet 16 is pressed into a pocket in the drum 13 by a die 17, Figs. 3 and 6, a sliding member 18 preventing lateral displacement. When the end and side folding is complete, pressure members 21, 24 ensure adhesion until the bag is removed. Two or more sheets may be folded simultaneously to make a double package.
