Abstract

298,760. James, W. Sent. 26, 1927. Folding boxes.-In a folding or collapsable box. the ends 1, 1<a> are made of wood and are provided with horizontal grooves 4<a>, 4 at the top and bottom respectively to receive the top and bottom member 3, while the sides are formed from cardboard blanks 2 having side flanges 6, 6b which are nailed to the end members. The blanks are scored at 5, 5<b> so as to allow the assembled ends and sides of the box to be folded flat, and they are also provided with top and bottom flanges 6<a>, 6<c> which are inserted within the top and bottom members and serve to strengthen the sides 2. The top and bottom members are inserted in the grooves 4, 4<a> from opposite sides until their ends abut against extensions a, b of the flanges 6, 6b which close the further ends of said grooves.
