Abstract

Integrating.-A meter for dealing with a wide range of flow variation comprises a weir having a notch o, Fig. 3, for normal flows and one or more notches p for abnormal flows and one or more integrators with or without a chart recorder. Toothed integrator drums f, g, Fig. 1, coaxially arranged are rotated at the same speed by clockwork mechanism, and successively acting integrators a, b are mounted on a sliding carriage, which also carries a recorder pen c<1>. The carriage has a stylus engaging a two-stage groove e in a float operated drum d. In modifications one integrator may be used with two toothed drums rotating at different speeds, two integrators with one drum, or one integrator with one drum; in the latter case, the integrator has a second pinion geared to a ratio differing from that of the normal pinion.
