Abstract

298,111. Crittall Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Walker, F. P. July 2, 1927. Glazing.-The beading 4 by which the glass 2 is secured in its frame is integral with or connected to a member or members 3 engaging the edge of the glass and lying between the glass and the rabbet of the frame, so that the beading is stiffened by the glass and the glass and engaging members are adapted to be slid into position in the frame. The bead may be secured to the frame by screws 6, or by cotter pins, or split pins, or by flat headed studs, or by a bent wire 11 of U-shape, Fig. 7, the ends of which are bent inwardly and may be entered in holes in the bead. The bead may have one limb engaged between the glass and the channel in which it lies, Fig. 11, the cotter pin being concealed bv the beading. The beading may be of wood attached to clips or to one limb of a U-shaped metal channel in which the glass rests. The glass may be retained by a metal channel having a projection which engages an opening in the frame and which is covered by the inverted U-shaped bead, Fig. 20, or the integrally formed bead and glass-retaining channel may have a tongue or projection engaging an aperture in the frame. Putty &c. may be bedded in the glass-holding channel and between that channel and the frame.
