Steering.-The rudderbar of an aircraft is adjustable towards and away from the pilot's seat on a fixed pivot-post. The pivot post 10 carries a yoke 13 in which are mounted fore-and-aft tubes 16, 17 on which a cross-head 24 is slidably mounted, and a screw-spindle 20 engaging a nut 25 on the cross-head. The cross-head carries the rudder-bar 26 and rotation of the wheel 23 on the spindle 20 by the pilot adjusts the bar as required. The pivot-post carries arms 12 to which the control cables are connected, but the control cables may be directly connected to the bar, turn-buckles being provided therein. The spindle 20 might be dispensed with, the crosshead being locked in a suitable position on the tubes by a locking pin. Suitable heel-rests may be provided.
