Abstract

297,229. Edwards, J. S. Oct. 14, 1927. Vehicle and like lamps; lighting, systems of.- A motor car lamp designed to shed light downwardly and outwardly and normally intended for use only when the headlights are extinguished, is formed as a conical frustum provided with a window 6 of corresponding shape extending over approximately a semi-circumference, the subtended diameter being preferably inclined at about 45‹. As shown, the lamp is continued forwardly to house a side light 3 and is divided by a partition 2 carrying the two lamp bulbs 3, 4. A ruby rear glass 7 is also provided. A single light source may however serve both purposes, or the lamp may be entirely separate from the side light.
