Abstract

296,871. Scott, W. H. Aug. 2, 1927. Controllers comprising separate contactors. - In an electric motor controller a contactor 2, when closed by an electromagnet 8, opens auxiliary contacts 9, 10 through an intermediate lever 14, which is pivoted on the contactor armature 1. A spring 27 bearing on the lever 14 is compressed by the closing movement of the armature, and the resulting movement of the lever is retarded by a fly-train until the contactor is completely closed, whereupon, the lever escapes from the fly-train pinion 18 and, by impact on a pin 13, quickly separates the auxiliary contacts 9, 10. The contactor armature is provided with a hook 26 engaging the lever 14 in order that the return stroke may take place positively without retardation.
