Regulation, automatic. - A variable-speed dynamo, regulated for constant voltage by the intermittent insertion of resistance into its fieldcircuit, has the value of that resistance varied according to the, dynamo speed by means of a muff 10 mounted on the dynamo shaft, in which are a. number of brushes 23 - - 26 under spring control. These brushes engage fused slip rings 18 - - 21 to which points on the resistance are connected, so that at diffexent speeds different brushes lose contact with their rings and vary the value of the resistance.
