Abstract

Centrifugal governors.-Governors are provided with additional loadings, by which the action of the governor is suspended over a certain range of speeds. An additional weight G1, Fig. 2, is prevented from falling below the position shown and is picked up by the main weight G2 at a certain speed. In a spring-loaded shaft governor, Fig. 3, the extra load is furnished by springs F1.
