Abstract

296,262. Aycock, F. M. Feb. 7, 1928. Runners.-A device for suspending or raising and lowering a scaffold on a vertical cable consists of a frame 1, 2 provided with a metal-flanged wooden pulley 13 around which the cable A is passed, gearing 8, 9 and a crank 25 for operating the pulley, and two grooved gear wheels 19, 20 which grip the cable and are actuated by the crank 25. The wheel 19 is adjustable in a slot by means of an L- shaped plate and set screw. A guide pulley 22 is fitted at the top, and all the gears are continually in mesh. Ratchet teeth 15 and a pawl may be provided on the pulley 13.
