Road-traffic signals on vehicles.-In signalling-apparatus an electric switch operated by the movement of the steering- mechanism of a road-vehicle, the switch comprises contact blades 20, 22 fixed to a bush 17 which also supports a movable contact blade 21 carrying a. pin 22<1> engaging a diagonal slot 16 formed in a bush 11 secured to the steering-column. As the column is turned the blade 21 rides out of the slot 16 and is pressed towards one or other of the contacts 20, 22, thus closing the circuit of the required signal. In a modification the three contact blades are disposad tangentially to the steering-column and the free end of the movable blade is guided axially instead of radially by an inclined slot. The device may be used in conjunction with the signalling-means described in Specification 267,089.
