Abstract

293,784. Tute, K. July 12, 1927, [Convention date]. Clips, band for coupling hose pipes, comprise a saddle-piece having a base-plate with spaced bars b, c and upstanding lugs a in which a slotted tightening member e is rotatably mounted, the inner edge of the bar b being vertically below one side of member e. One end of a flexible band f is bent round the bar c of the base-plate and the band is then wrapped round the hose pipe d, passing up between the bars b, o and over bar c as shown. The free end of the band is finally brought up and inserted in member e, which is then rotated to tighten the band, the parts being so arranged that the band f is bent over limb b at approximately a right-angle as shown, this bend serving to retain the clip in tightened position. The member e may be formed by bending rod of semi-circular cross-section, the bend forming an eye h, Fig. 3, to receive a tool &c. for rotating member e.
