Abstract
293,656. Tismer, F. Feb. 3, 1928. Screw propellers.-Screw-propeller blades a are provided at the rear edge h with passages of diminishing width from f to g and leading from the driving face b to the suction face c, and/or tapered holes or slots i adjacent the rear edge also diminishing in width from d to e. The passages or holes may have a twist and be of any shape in cross-section. The passages may be formed in grooved members mounted on the rear edge of the blades and the holes may be lined. Provision may be made for controlling the passages or holes either by manual or automatic means.
