Holding and picking-up tools.-A device for holding a closed book which is coated with adhesive and has a cover applied to it by pushing it back downwardly upon a cover disposed upon spaced presser rollers, comprises a plate p which is adapted to be inserted between the pages at the middle of the book and has spring clips t pivoted upon its two sides to grip the outer longitudinal edges of the book. A handle r is provided on the upper edge of the plate.
