Priming, preventing.-To prevent foaming and entrainment of liquid, a part of the steam is blown at a slightly higher pressure on to the whole surface of the liquid through a number of pipes having small openings. In a plant with a number of boilers, one may be maintained at a slightly higher pressure to supply steam for introduction into the others; or a blower may be operared by a small turbine.
