Abstract

291,302. Seeliger, G. Dec. 7, 1927. Endless-chain water wheels for use in streams, comprise chains or bands carrying vanes c and passing over pulleys a, b on shafts e, f which may be geared together. 'The vanes are inclined in opposite directions as shown in Fig. 2, and the vanes on one chain are arranged opposite to the gaps between the vanes on the other chain. Regulatig.-The bearings for the shafts e, f are adjustable in height so that the depth of immersion of the vanes may be varied. The adjustment may be effected by a winch and rack and chain gearing. The bearings may be suspended from a jib projecting from the river bank.
