Abstract

291,133. Edelson, C. Z., Goldeen, J., and Tarlow, M. D. Feb. 21, 1927. Mattresses. - Relates to mattresses embodying spring units wherein a number of radially arranged bent wire springs 17 are looped at their inner ends for connection to upper and lower end caps 15, and diverge therefrom to a central zone encircled by a circumferential wire 10; and consists in the assembling of such units for insertion into a mattress case by means of clips 12 or like devices by which the units are loosely connected together. The assembly is preferably surrounded by an outer wire frame 13 clipped to the spring units. The usual padding and tufting is carried out, the end caps 15 being centrally perforated in order that their position may readily be ascertained during the tufting operation by probing with a needle.
