290,591. Wyman-Gordon Co., (Assignees of Oldson, J. A.). May 16, 1927, [Convention date]. Balancing moving parts by weights. -In a multi-throw forged crank shaft a journal 20, 21 or 24, 25 is provided on each side of each crank pin 27 - - 32; the crank webs 33, 34 are prolonged beyond the shaft axis to form counterweights 35 for balancing the crank shaft and in part the connecting-rod big-end and piston. The counter-weights 35 are of the same thickness as the web but widen as shown in Fig. 3.
