Vaporizing-apparatus; burners, arrangement of. -In a cooking stove or range burning gasoline &c. comprising a number of open top burners 10 - - 13 and an oven burner 14 having valvecontrolled connections leading from a manifold 15 which is supplied with vapour from a tubular vaporizer 25 heated by one top burner 10, an additional burner 24 communicating with the oven burner supply connection 20 beyond the control valve 242 is arranged underneath the vaporizer 25 to allow the oven burner to be used independently of the top burners. The vaporizer 25 contains an adjustable needle valve 31 and is carried by an oil supply fitting 27 which is secured to the stove framing by a screw 30. The initial heating of the vaporizer is effected by means of a vapour burner 35 comprising a coiled tube 37 communicating at one end through a valve 40 with the fitting 27 and at the other carrying a jet 36. The coiled tube is enclosed by a sheet metal casing 41 formed with name-directing tongues 411. The bottom wall of the casing is formed with a projecting lip or baffle plate 42 and is provided with an extension 44 forming a cup to catch fuel drippings. The top wall of the casing is provided with down-turned flanges 45 which hold the casing in position on the coil. A lighted match applied, to the casing 41 generates sufficient vapour in the coil 37 to ignite at the jet 36. After a brief interval the vaporiser 25 will be heated so that on turning the needle valve 31 gaseous fuel will be supplied to the manifold where it will mix with air entering through the opening 261 and on issuing from the jet orifices of the burner 10 or 24 be ignited by the burners 351. The valve 40 may then be operated to shut off the fuel supply to the coil 37. The burner 24 may be employed as a simmering burner during the use of the oven burner. The burner 10 comprises two segmental sections 21, 22 connected by a tubular cross member 23. The sections 21, 22 are provided with side slots 23<a> in addition to the usual upper slots for the emission of the vapour.
