Abstract

Electrodes; gas exits.-The copper oxide depolarizer in a cell employing copper and zinc electrodes is enclosed between an outer copper vessel 12 and an inner perforated cylinder 14 held in position by the inturned upper end 13 of the vessel 12. The zinc electrode 18 is supported on a glass insulator 16 and may be provided at its upper end with a gas vent 23 and a filter of spun glass 24. The zinc electrode and the flange 13 of the vessel 12 may be provided with grooves 19, 20 in which a rubber ring 21 engages.
