Thermal switches.-A temperature indicating and alarm arrangement comprises temperature-indicating apparatus and an alarm device operated by a thermostaticallyactuated switch. In the form shown the base 1 of the switch S, which may be of the kind described in Specification 253,253, has a screwed extension 2 for attachment to a vessel, such as a transformer casing, containing fluid, the temperature of which is to be measured. The extension 2 is internally threaded to receive the thermostatic element 3 consisting of a bellows 5 connected by a piston 6 to the switch. The tube 2 has another screwed extension 2a carrying a tube 7 on which is mounted the resistance element R of an electrical resistance thermometer connected to a distant indicator. This connection may be made through the switch S so that a reading of the indicator is only obtained when the alarm circuit is closed.
