Abstract

289,630. British Dyestuffs Corporation, Ltd., and Chapman, E. April 25, 1927. Chemicals. - In the production of fire-extinguishing foam one or more of the following reagents is added as a foaming agent to the gasdeveloping solutions or is employed with water and a supply of pressure gas, namely : sulphonic derivatives of aldehyde-naphthalene or aldehydephenol condensation products; alklyated naphthalene sulphonic acids; the sulphonic derivatives of sulphonatable mineral oil fractions of boiling point substantially above 200‹ C.; sulphonated alkylated mineral oil fractions; lignin sulphonic acid; naphthenic acids; taurocholic acid; sulphonated higher fatty acids; or salts of any of these. Two exemplary foam-forming compositions are described. Specification 274,611, [Class 91, Oils &c.] is referred to.
