Abstract

289,271. Bauer, W. J. May 31, 1927. Folding-seats.-In a X-frame folding chair of the kind in which the seat 13 is pivoted at P to the legs 11, and the legs 10 are extended upwardly and pivoted at 25 to the back 14, stops being provided tc limit the unfolding movement, the seat 13 is arranged to project rearwardly beyond the back, at 23, forming a portion to be used for manipulating the chair when folding or unfolding the same. Arms 15 may be provided, forming a hinged con. nection between the seat 13 and the back 14, and embodying hooks 20 which engage with a seatsupporting rod 16 to limit the unfolding. The seat-manipulating portion is preferably formed with a hand hole 23, and a similar hole may be provided at 24.
