Abstract

289,246. Fowler & Co. (Leeds), Ltd., J., and Fowler, C. H. April 2, 1927. Driving external machines, adapting vehicle driving-gear for; driving steering-wheels; transmission gear between separate axles. - In tractors having three joined sections the rearmost of which swivels about a shaft 30, the said shaft has a rear extension 30<1> adapted to take a gearwheel or the like for connection to an agricultural implement. The main shaft 11 drives a two-speed gear 14 whose wheels are formed integral with a differential casing 15. The front shaft 18 drives the front wheels 2 through a differential 22 and worms and chains. The rear shaft 19 has a telescopic and jointed .extension 28 connected to shaft 30 which drives the rear wheels 8.
