Luggage and like holders. -The rear panel C of a receptacle M mounted at the rear of a motor-vehicle and adapted to carry luggagecases, tool-chests, &c., is fitted with a bracket or like supporting member E for carrying spare wheels. In the construction shown the receptacle M is mounted on two brackets A, which are bolted to the vehicle frame and connected together at their rear ends by a tube or rod B serving as a pivoting axle for the opening panel or lid C. The plate or bracket E extends below the axle B and has secured to it a concave member F forming a mud-guard for the spare wheels. India-rubber tubing or similar packing may be provided to form a tight joint between the receptacle M and.panel C, while a tool-chest G may be disposed on the top of the receptacle and be provided with a hinged cover H, which may give stopping, turning, or like indications. The overhanging weight of the spare wheels may bebalanced by springs coiled round the axle B, and contacting at their ends with the box M and with the bracket E.
