Abstract

288,829. Dickinson, W., Dickinson, F., and Steel, T. N. April 30, 1927. Belts.-A linked V-belt for use on motor cycles and cars and for fan and dynamo drives &c. comprises links A, C, &c. each of which consists of an elongated coil of wire, alternate links being wound right and left handed, respectively, the end of the coils being intermeshed so that a pad B of rubber and/or leather with inclined ends may be inserted in the loop thus formed. The ends D of the wire of each coil are brought together inside the coil and may be spot welded together. The pads B may be circular or elliptical in cross-section and may be formed, Fig. 5, with a. rubber centre b to which is secured by adhesive a ring F of leather with chamfered ends.
