Abstract

288,357. Clay, P. E. F. Dec 28, 1926. Drawings to Specification. Elastic stockings.-Elastic garments comprising an elastic thread arranged spirally within knitted loops of an inelastic material are shaped in the horizontal plane by varying the tension in the elastic thread during the formation of each of a number of selected courses; thus an enlargement may be formed in the rear of a stocking to accommodate the calf of the leg by reducing the tension of the elastic thread at that part. The tension may also be varied in successive courses.
